Carrigrohane Union of Parishes is dependant upon our whole team of volunteers getting involved in the life and ministry of the Union of Parishes. If you would like to find out more about getting involved please do fill out the form and we would love to have a chat with you.

Sunday by Sunday and at other times during the week we welcome people through our doors with a cup of tea/coffee. As one of our values Hospitality is really important. If you can make a cup of tea, wash some dishes and provide a smile to welcome someone – we’d love to hear from you!

Technology is part of our everyday life. In Carrigrohane Union we are looking to see how we can harness technology to aid our mission and ministry. We have a team of people who update websites & social media. Ensure people can hear our services (Sound Desk) and press the buttons for song lyrics. You don’t need to be expert in the field – simply a willingness to learn and serve.

We have two toddler groups in the Union – One in Blarney and one at the Carraig Centre. These are staffed by a caring team of volunteers. The team set up, interact with those who come along.

We have an amazing team of volunteers who make our youth ministry work in the parish. Friday Nights, Sunday Nights as well as various one off events.

In our churches through the year there are rotas for people who are willing to provide flower arrangements to add to the sense of beauty. If you would be willing to help please do contact the Church Wardens or the Parish office

The Select Vestry – this is the annually elected board of trustees who are responsible for the running of the parish. They are elected at the Annual Easter General Vestry.

Worship is at the heart of all that we do as a Church. If you have a heart for worship we would love to hear from you.

This team runs events throughout the year for families across the Union of Parishes. Headed up by April Gunn. Some of these events are seasonal (Half term, Easter, Christmas) others happen termly (Brick Builders etc.)

At services in the Carraig Centre we do offer prayer after the service. If you would like to be trained in prayer ministry please do speak to Deirdre Lightbody or Chuck Hohnbaum via parish office.

The Carriag Centre in Ballincollig is open throughout the week and we are dependant upon volunteers to help the centre run smoothly and provide people coming through our doors with a smile and good information. If you have time during the week and would like to find out more information about this please do speak to Matt Gould.

With 4 places of worship & other properties we are dependant upon people to help out with the Practical side maintenace – We need people to help out with litter picking, grass cutting, power hosing, church cleaning, dusting and many other tasks. Some of these happen quietly during the week others happen on work party days.

The parish is ultimately dependent upon God and we have quietly across the parish people praying for the parish and the needs of the parish. Over the next year we’re going to form a team to develop this important area of ministry. If you would like to be included in the intercession team please speak to Robert.

Sunday by Sunday we have parishioners who read the readings in our church gatherings. Who prepare prayers as we pray together. We are always open to new people being part of this area of ministry. Do let the office know if you are interested in helping out with this and in which location.

Some of these teams do have formal entry requirements such as those that work with under 18’s – where we do have to go through our Safeguarding Trust processes.

Others we will have a trial period to see how best you might be able to serve. The best way is to have a conversation with a staff member / team leader.
