Job Description

Carrigrohane Union of Parishes ( CUP) wishes to appoint a part-time youth worker to provide cover for a four month period from September.

Main Tasks

  1. Assisting in the preparation and delivery of the proposed Growing Leaders course
  2. Assisting in the preparation and delivery of activities associated with Glow, Glow Max and Sunday PM including delivering talks
  3. Providing informal pastoral care and support for young people
  4. Assisting in various administrative tasks associated with the youth programme eg registration of young people, maintaining sessional records etc
  5. Supporting team of volunteer leaders
  6. Ensure that youth work is anchored within the vision and values of CUP

Terms and conditions

  • This is a fixed term contract from 1 September 2020 to 31 December 2020
  • The contract will be for 14 hours per week and a large proportion of these hours will involve evening and week-end work
  • The person will be line managed by Matt Gould

Essential Criteria

  1. Must have have completed all aspects of the Safeguarding process
  2. At least two years experience of delivering youth work activities as a volunteer
  3. Be comfortable exploring faith issues with young people

Desirable Criteria

4. Have completed some form of professional or in-service training in youth work or a related area Application process
